Kingston, ON (April 21, 2017) The United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington will recognize workplace volunteers at a luncheon on April 25, 2017. (11:30am – 1:30pm) The luncheon takes place at the Ramada Kingston Hotel and Conference centre and is sponsored by Bell.
The event honours the achievements of workplace campaigns, labour groups and local media partners. As per tradition, the United Way will also introduce the volunteer who will chair the 2017 Campaign.
This year there are special recognition awards to recognize the successful Kingston Penitentiary Tours in 2016 and a commemorative 75th Anniversary special edition magazine. Bell will present a brand new “Voice of the Community Award” in memory of the late Greg Hinton, a long-time volunteer with the United Way.
“Volunteers are critical to the success of the campaign and are engaged at all levels of the United Way” says Bhavana Varma, President & CEO, United Way KFLA. “We are grateful to everyone who shares their time and talent with the United Way. The support in our community is incredible and this day is an opportunity to honour and recognize some of the volunteers who have helped make a difference in our community”.
