400 cases of Cottonelle® toilet paper and 60 cases of Kleenex facial tissue will be distributed to agencies helping the most vulnerable in KFL&A
Kingston, ON, July 16, 2020 — In March, Kimberly-Clark Canada (K-C Canada) announced a partnership with United Way Centraide Canada to assist in its COVID-19 community relief efforts across the country, pledging 100,000 rolls of Cottonelle® and 10,000 Kleenex® Facial tissue products to help those in need.
Local Canadian communities were invited to apply to receive a donation and five United Way Centraide communities were selected including United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington. Each community received shipments in June and with the help of Lionhearts, Inc., who helped unload and store the large donation, United Way KFL&A is currently coordinating pick-ups from various agencies throughout the community.
“This is wonderful news for our community and the agencies that are working so hard to help the most vulnerable members of our community during this challenging time,” said Bhavana Varma, President and CEO of United Way KFL&A. “Thank you to Kimberly-Clark for this generous donation. Our agencies are so delighted and appreciative of this support.”
In addition to the product donations, Kimberly-Clark Canada is committed to donating $100,000 to United Way Centraide Canada’s National Fund to help the most vulnerable populations receive critical community services and support during this global crisis.
“We’re proud to partner with United Way Centraides to mark Kimberly-Clark Canada’s largest single donation to-date,” said Natalia Surina, Senior Brand Manager for Kimberly-Clark. “United Way helps so many communities and we’re happy to be able to help get essentials to those who need it most.”
This commitment marks the largest single donation in Cottonelle and Kleenex brand history in Canada and is part of a larger commitment by Kimberly-Clark Canada, a longtime supporter of United Way Centraides across Canada.
