KINGSTON, ON / November 9, 2016 – Campaign Chair Brigadier-General Stephen Kelsey and his Campaign Cabinet invite volunteers and supporters to join United Way for its annual Campaign Touchdown Breakfast on Wednesday, November 30, at the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Centre. Doors open at 7:00 am and ceremonies start at 7:30 am.
On September 9, 2016, a campaign goal of $3,451,000 was announced. In three weeks, the United Way will reveal how much the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington community raised this year during their 75th annual campaign.
“I have truly enjoyed being a part of this year’s campaign. It was a busy and challenging couple of months with unexpected obstacles to overcome but it was a rewarding and inspiring experience,” says Kelsey. “I was fortunate to meet many wonderful volunteers who have worked very hard every day to help their community and just being a part of the 75th anniversary is very special”.
Every year thousands of volunteers, organizations, frontline agencies, professional staff and media partners come together to raise funds for services that help their families, friends and neighbours. Last year United Way invested in 57 programs that helped 75,000 people in our community.
Tickets are $15 each. Organizers advise people to book their seats early as the breakfast regularly sells out. Tickets are available online: https://2016touchdown.eventbrite.ca
