A Special Day of Caring for United Way Funded Agencies planned for March 6
What: The Queen’s AMS Student United Way Committee has planned a special Day of Caring on Thursday, March 6th, from 1 to 5 p.m. During this time, students will assist United Way funded agencies with light construction and maintenance tasks.
Who: Queen’s students will be volunteering at three United Way funded agencies.
When: Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Where: Queen’s students will be at the following agencies:
- Boys and Girls Club, 559 Bagot Street;
- Frontenac-Kingston Council on Aging, 230 Brock Street
- St. Vincent de Paul Society, 85 Stephen Street
About Queen’s AMS Student United Way Committee
Queen’s United Way committee raises awareness and funds for the United Way. They also participate in Days of Caring, Seeing is Believing Tours and various committees and are a part of the Queen’s United Way committee. Last year, Queen’s University faculty, students and staff raised over $330,000, the single largest workplace campaign in the region. Queen’s students themselves raise over $20,000 for the United Way campaign every year.
