Created in 1993 by Joanne Langlois, Michelle Langlois, and Clark Day, this unique event affords guests the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed afternoon while sampling the finest dishes and best wines. This year, Fare For Friends guests will receive a special commemorative gift and get a chance for a digital picture from local photographer Bernard Clark to help mark this special anniversary.
Many local restaurants will be participating, including Aqua Terra by Clark, Bread & Butter Bakery, Curry Original, Days on Front Restaurant, Geneva Crêpe Bistro, Greek Town Grill & Take-Out, Mio Gelato, Red House, and Sir John’s Public House – to name just a few. To complement the exceptional cuisine, wineries and breweries will be on hand to offer samples of their finest wines and brews. Visit https://www.unitedwaykfla.ca or United Way’s Facebook page for more information about this popular event. Those attending the event will sample culinary delights, excellent wines and microbrewery beer while enjoying live entertainment and participating in a lively auction from 2-6 p.m. at the Vimy Officers’ Mess, Canadian Forces Base Kingston.
Volunteers have been working hard all year to secure live and silent auction items donated by local artists and businesses who offer a wide range of exciting items, including home décor items, pampering packages, art work, entertainment packages and much more. Live entertainment will be provided by Brian Howell & Company. This year’s gold sponsor is St. Lawrence Optometry Clinic.
Fare for Friends is the largest fundraising event of the United Way KFL&A, raising $76,000 last year. Over the past 19 years, the event has raised over $1 million dollars for programs that help people right here in our community.
