Tampon Tuesday

Tampon Tuesday is a program about dignity. The grassroots movement began in 2009 and continues to grow as an opportunity to collect products for people experiencing period poverty.

Pink Shirt Day

This year, Pink Shirt Day is February 28, 2024. This day encourages everyone to practice kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying.

Community Food
Redistribution Warehouse

The goal of this initiative is to provide space and infrastructure to collect and distribute healthy food to local agencies that provide food and meals as part of their programs.

Day of Caring

For the past 20+ years, United Way volunteer teams have shown their local love and helped agencies with gardening, renovations, and more at the annual Day of Caring

Leadership Development Services Public Workshops

United Way strengthens the voluntary sector by offering training and workshops to non-profit organizations throughout KFLA.

Backpack Program

Every year United Way KFL&A asks community members to donate school supplies and funds to provide families and children with supplies to start the school year off right.

Homelessness Collective Impact Committee

The Homelessness Collective Impact Committee (HCIC) was formed in late 2021. The main objective of the group is to design, develop and adapt a system of care to address homelessness in Kingston (and area) .

Free, confidential service helps people impacted by life's challenges and COVID-19 navigate available community and government supports.

Coats for Community

Donate clean, new or gently used coats, boots and warm clothing and new accessories – including hats, mitts, scarves and socks.

Tis the season of giving and there are many ways to give back to people in your community who are in need.

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
