United Way KFL&A is part of a world-wide connection called Women United. Women United brings together like-minded women who want to use their skills, talents and resources to contribute to their community in a significant way. Women United builds on the strong legacy of Women in Leadership in our region with members giving independently to the United Way, or jointly with their spouses or partners. Local Network:

United Way KFL&A has approximately 450 women Leaders of the Way (donors who give $1,200 or more) who make a difference in the community by supporting local programs that have a significant impact. In 2021, these leaders contributed over $1.5 million! The goal of Women United is to bring even more women and resources together under the United Way umbrella in order to change more lives for the better locally. Women Leaders can be active as philanthropists at many different level starting from $1,200-4,999 a year.

Event

The third Women United event of the year will take place on Monday, September 12. This in-person event will adhere to public health guidelines and light refreshments will be served

Community Food Redistribution Warehouse

Unit 6 – 779 Sir John A. MacDonald Blvd, Kingston, ON K7L 1H3

Based on your suggestions, the event will highlight the issue of Food Security. We are holding this at our new Community Food Redistribution Warehouse, which is funded by United Way and the City of Kingston. You will get a chance to tour the space and learn about this initiative’s collective impact approach in response to the growing need for a warehouse to safely redistribute food donations to agencies. You’ll also hear about agencies and programs that receive the food, such as Martha’s Table, Loving Spoonful, The Good Food Box and Seniors and Student Food Box, and how they ensure the food gets to individuals in need.

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
