Fare For Friends – The Grand Final
After 25 amazing years, the annual Fare for Friends event came to a close with one final sold-out garden party. An exciting new event is in the works and will be announced once details are finalized. Huge thank you to the KFL&A community for their great support of Fare for Friends and continued support of future events.
History
Fare for Friends began in 1994 by Clark Day, Joanne Langlois and Michele Langlois. It is held every year on a Sunday afternoon in September, on the grounds of the Vimy Officers’ Mess. Fare For Friends is the largest fundraising event of the United Way KFLA. Over the past 24 years, the event has raised over $1.2 million dollars for programs that help people right here in our community. All proceeds support local programs that benefit thousands of residents. This event brings together the area’s finest restaurants, wineries and breweries. Live and silent auction items are gathered from local artists and business, offering a wide range of exciting items. All of the food, drinks and auction items are generously donated.
