For the past 20 years, each June, United Way volunteers have gathered in teams to help agencies with projects at the annual Day of Caring. The day is an opportunity to show their local love and help agencies with gardening, renovations, cleaning projects and more. Volunteers also learn about the impact of their donations and the local agencies that make a difference in the lives of KFL&A residents every day.
In 2021, the United Way will adapt the event to allow for different engagement opportunities, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed. This year we will be asking workplace volunteers to donate items through a donation collection drive or assemble kits that will be distributed to people in need. There will also be an opportunity to make a ‘day of caring’ donation to support an agency with a day’s worth of program funding.
This year’s Day of Caring is on June 11th, 2021. For more about the day and how you can participate visit www.unitedwaykfla.ca/dayofcaring
