The 21st edition of the Fare for Friends brought in $86,000 for the local United Way on Sunday.
The garden party at the Vimy’s Officers Mess at Canadian Forces Base Kingston event featured food items from two dozen restaurants along with 13 wineries and breweries, which about 350 patrons had a chance to sample.
Money is raised from ticket sales as well as the silent and live auctions.
In its existence, the event has raised more than $1 million for the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington United Way.
This year’s campaign will officially begin on Friday morning at the United Way Kick Off Breakfast at the Ambassador Conference Resort, where they will announce their fundraising goal for the year.
