KINGSTON, ON. /August 31, 2016 – Kingston Police are excited to announce that the 2016 North American Police Equestrian Championships (NAPEC) is coming to Kingston this fall.
The event, part of the Kingston Police 175th anniversary celebrations, will be hosted inside Kingston Penitentiary grounds. Tickets are available online to the public. NAPEC will take place on September 17th and 18th
Law enforcement officers from across North America will be putting their skills to the test, bringing officers and horses together in this championship. Kingston Police will have the honour of hosting this prestigious event September 17-18, 2016 with full day line-ups of exciting events and demonstrations, including the RCMP Musical Ride and canine demonstrations.
Kingston Police are proud to partner with Correctional Service of Canada to host the event within the historic grounds of Kingston Penitentiary, in support of the United Way.
“This is a very special opportunity for Kingston residents to see these championships in a historic venue,” says Jody Armstrong, Chair of the Kingston Police 175th Anniversary Organizing Committee. “We are delighted to offer this unique event in support of the United Way, celebrating our 175th anniversary.”
Entry fee is $25 and tickets are available online through Eventbrite. Toddlers 3 and under qualify for free admission. Group rates are available.

About NAPEC: North American Police Equestrian Council’s main goal is to provide support to Mounted Units in North America through training and being a resource center for those units. NAPEC at the present time offers only two training sessions a year one is at the annual conference which held by a different hosting agent each year in the fall. 6:45pm – Canadian Olympic equestrian Gina Smith Dressage Demonstration (tentative)
7:00pm – RCMP Musical Ride
8:00pm – End of evening

9:00am – Obstacle Class
12:00pm – Lunch and Canine Demonstration
2:00pm – Obstacle Class resumes
3:00pm – Liberty demonstration performed by Ron Pyne (3-star Parelli Professional)
